What is Taekwon–Do?
Tae: to use the foot to kick , jump and smash
Kwon: to use the hand to block, strike and punch.
Do: Art or way of.
Taekwon-do is a Korean art of self defence, founded by General Choi Hong HI, a Korean Army General in the 1950’s, It consists of attack and defensive movements, with a lot of emphasis on kicking techniques.
Taekwon-do training is both aerobic, anaerobic with flexibility exercises, body conditioning and Co-ordination.
Taekwon-do training promotes a healthy body and mind.
Taekwon-do students follow the 5 tenets: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit. As laid down by the founder.
